1. Agreement

By adding HadithBot to a Discord server, or by using its commands, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the bot. Adding it to a server also means you accept these terms on behalf of that server.

These terms sit alongside Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, which apply to your use of Discord itself.

2. What HadithBot is

HadithBot posts a daily hadith and the 99 names of Allah to channels you choose, and answers on-demand slash commands. It is free, with no paid tier, no accounts, and no advertising. The source code is public at github.com/SaiyedRushan/HadithBot.

It's maintained by one person in their spare time, and these terms are written to be honest about what that means.

3. Who can add and configure it

Discord requires the Manage Server permission to add any bot to a server. Within your server, the /bismillah setup, stop, and status commands require the Manage Channels permission. You're responsible for who you grant those permissions to.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't:

• Use the bot to spam, harass, or flood channels, or to send its content to people who haven't asked for it.
• Use it in a way that breaks Discord's terms, guidelines, or applicable law.
• Deliberately overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the bot or the infrastructure it runs on.
• Present the bot's output in a misleading way — for example, altering a hadith's text or attribution.

Access may be withdrawn, and the bot removed from a server, if it is being used this way. This is a rarely-used backstop, not an active moderation programme; the bot cannot read your messages, so nobody is monitoring your server.

5. Availability

The bot is provided on a best-effort basis. There is no uptime guarantee, no support commitment, and no service level of any kind. Features may change, daily posts may be delayed or missed, and the service may be paused or discontinued at any time — including if hosting costs or Discord's requirements make it impractical to keep running.

If the project is ever shut down, reasonable notice will be given through the GitHub repository where practical.

6. Religious content

Hadith texts, translations, and the names of Allah are drawn from publicly available collections, and each hadith names its book and chapter with a link to Sunnah.com so you can check it at the source.

Translations and compiled datasets can contain errors, and grading and interpretation are matters for qualified scholars. HadithBot is a reminder, not a religious authority, and nothing it posts should be treated as a ruling or as a substitute for scholarly guidance. If you spot an error in the text, please report it on GitHub so it can be corrected.

7. Privacy

What the bot stores — and the much longer list of what it doesn't — is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. No warranty

HadithBot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maintainer of HadithBot is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the bot. Since the bot is provided free of charge, no fees have been paid for it, and no refund or compensation is available.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Ending it

You can stop using HadithBot at any time. Run /bismillah stop in each channel you set it up in — which deletes that channel's stored row — and then remove the bot from your server.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. When they are, the date at the top of the page changes and the edit appears in the project's public commit history. Continuing to use the bot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
